When did you start your business?

1998

Do you consider the location of your shop a key factor to the business’s success?

Yes absolutely. We’re on the only surfing beach in Long Beach.

Who is your average buyer?

Both males and females from 18-25 are our average buyer.

If a total Barney walks in do you treat him with the same respect as a full on loc?

Yes. We treat everybody equally here.

What is the dumbest question a customer has ever asked?

When a customer walks out of the dressing room with the wetsuit on completely backwards and they ask “does this fit ok?”

Do you have a mascot (ex. - An animal that roams freely throughout the building)?

We do not. A couple of mosquito’s.

What is the craziest return a customer has ever tried to make?

When a guy bought a wetsuit once and 2 hours later he tried to return it dripping wet.

Does your store support any local surfers or have a surf team?

Yes we have both a surf & skate team.

What is your most annoying grom story?

Some of the groms that tell me how hard they rip when in all reality they really don’t.

Have you ever had any type of celeb roll in and make a purchase?

Josh Hartnett and Keri Russell.

Have you ever pulled a hot chick/guy solely due to the fact that you own/manage a surf shop?

I’m married so no. Some of the other managers have though. Absolutely.

How many days a week do you surf now compared to before you owned/managed a surf shop?

Whenever the waves are good I surf.

Who is your favorite surfer and why?

Dion Agius. He’s been crushing it in the past few vids he’s been in.

Has a customer trying on clothes ever walked out completely naked?

No, but darn close.

Has a person ever walked in totally blitzkrieged (really intoxicated) and tried to make a purchase? If so elaborate.

Yes. We’ve had a lady come in here completely plastered and tried to steal everything out of the store. They didn’t quite make it too far.

Every store has to deal with shoplifting. What is your most memorable experience and what is your shoplifting policy?

Our shoplifting policy is that we don’t like it. We have a deal here that whatever “kid” employee that catches a shoplifter gets 50 bucks. Refer to question #15 for the most memorable experience.

And last but not least tell us one of the craziest shop stories you can remember?

Too many to mention. They basically occur daily.
